Arambol is a traditional fisherman village, located approximately a one-hour drive from the Dabolim Airport (GOI) within the Pernemadministrative region of northern Goa, India. The beach attracts many international tourists, mainly during the winter season between November and March.                 Arambol (CT) is a town in the Pernem taluka of North Goa district with an area of 9.66 km2. and harbouring 1234 households with total population of 5322 as per the 2011 Census. The district headquarter Panaji is at a distance of 40 km. The state headquarterPanaji is at a distance of 40 km. Male population is 2780 and female population is 2542. Scheduled Caste population is 125 and Scheduled Tribes population is 0. Census Location Code of the town is 626658.[1]Population wise class of the town is Class V (Population 5,000 to 9,999). The civic status of the town is 'Census Town'. The nearest city with population more than 1 lakh is Belgaumat a distance of 161 km. The nearest city with population more than 5 lakh is Pune at a distance of 463 km. Railway station is atPernem at a distance of 16 km.

The town has open drainage system. Water is supplied from a service reservoir. The town gets it water as tap water from a treated source. The capacity of the water supply system is 650 kilo-litres. The nearest fire fighting service is at PERNEM (13 km) .

The majority of the locals are Hindu, then comes a percentage of people subscribing to the Christian faith and a minority of Muslims.The Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmelserves the religious interests of the many Catholics in the area. Mother Mary is referred to as Saibinn Mai in the local Konkani language.
As in many other parts of Goa, both footballand cricket are popular sports with the people of this area. 

A short walk north off the main beach is a smaller beach with a "fresh water lake" close to the sea. The jungle valley, enclosed between low hills hide a spectacular Banyan tree. Adjoining the banyan tree there is a stone sculpture created by an American Conceptual and Land art artist Jacek TylickiGive if you can - Take if you have to also calledThe Money Stone.
